We are working with a fantastic school who have been using us to support their recruitment efforts for many years to find an enthusiastic Learning Mentor with SEMH experience to join their team. This role is at a SEN School located in the Borough of Lewisham and they are looking to secure a strong, qualified Learning Mentor to work in an inclusive classroom with children who have SEMH and ADHD.

Responsibilities

  • The ideal Learning Mentor Special Needs SEMH for this position will be someone who is enthusiastic, passionate, and willing to get involved in the community of this school.
  • The expectations for this role is a Learning Mentor Special Needs SEMH who is confident in the key competencies of their subject area, and has a broad knowledge base and understanding of the curriculum requirements to guide student learning.
  • Skills in de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Collaboration with mental health professionals and families.

Qualifications/Experience

  • You must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, as well as a PGCE or equivalent Teaching qualification, to be eligible for this role.
  • Additionally, you will need to have, or be eligible for, British QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent to be considered for this job.
  • To be eligible for this position you will also need proven classroom experience or training.
